Patrick Squier is a Houston-based guitarist and songwriter whose style “blends blues, rock and psychedelia into an intoxicating mix…which can turn from ‘60s psych rock to ‘90s grunge without missing a beat.” - Jesse Sendejas Jr, Houston Press
The band includes his long-time collaborator and brother Alexander Squier on the keys, Matthew Hartman on drums, and Matt Garcia on bass.
Current releases are debut studio album Good Conversations (2023) with singles In The Morning (2023) and Stairways (2023) and live album Bayou City Revival: Live at West Alabama Ice House (2022), all mastered by Billy Stull.
Squier headlines regularly in Houston at venues like The Continental Club, Dan Electros, and the Last Concert Café. He has also opened for touring acts such as The Lowdown Brass Band, Angelo Moore & the Brand New Step, and Robert Jon & the Wreck.
Squier’s single In The Morning was featured on Long River Sessions (2022). He has also made appearances on local Pacifica Radio station KPFT 90.1 FM. Segments include a guest spot on Long River Radio Show as well as Podcast and a full live session on The Gumbeaux Radio Show.
Founded by Amir Pirayandeh in 2015 “as a home-recording project,” calling Gumma an “indie-rock” band cuts short the unique possibilities present. Their incredibly promising 2024 full-length Sweetness of Nothing ranges from Seventies yacht rock to stock beats in an old Casio synthesizer to Black Sabbath, sometimes multiple things in the same song (“The Casino”).
